SE7EN Spoiler.

The film starts out showing us an average day of an older homicide detective, Morgan Freeman, allowing the audience to see what he views on a daily basis due to his job. The dark slates jump and shake while showing the serial killer preparing to do his 'work'.

The film throughout is very dark, both in theme and lighting. In almost every scene it is shown to be heavily raining which sets the tone. After the opening sequences Freeman meeting his new partner, Brad Pitt, as they are to investigate the seemingly death of a obese man which they later uncover at the ortopsy someone forced him to eat spaghetti then kicked his stomach to burst it. This is the first of the seven sins, gluttony.

The detectives work together despite their differences, more and more victims of strange torturous murders someone is acting out the Catholic Church's "Seven Deadly Sins." Each victim is forced to suffer whatever sin they had in their lives. Through out the week the murders mount up each day with a lawyer killed by greed, a hooker killed by lust, a model by pride and a drug user by sloth. The deaths show the killer to be patient and determined.

As each murder victims body is found, the killer leaves clues, daring the two detectives to find and catch him. Freeman using the library system to see who has been reading up on the Seven deadly sins, finds a man named John Doe. A shoot-out erupts outside the mans apartment leading Doe to escape, we as an audience never get to see his face through the pouring rain.. Happy they are on the right lead they search the apartment but are later angered and confused as the apartment contains no fingerprints....

The killings get to number five out of seven. John Doe appears at the police station bloody but willing it seems to cooperate, ready to turn himself in. John Doe is played by Kevin Spacey. He seems unassuming and calm, except for his bloody fingers and T-shirt, of which he sliced off so he has no finger pattern meaning no print so he can not be traced. While questioning him the police find not only his blood on the shirt and fingers but someone else's....

Doe's lawyer tells the detectives the only way they will find the other two bodies is to drive John Doe out to a deserted field at a specific time to wait for instructions. The men accept and do as he asks leading them to a desert (the only scene in the movie that is light and sunny). A police helicopter is told to follow behind just in case.

In the distances while the men are talking to Doe, a FedEx van pull up with a guy carrying a small box. The frightened delivery boy states he was scheduled earlier to deliver the box to this field at the specific time of seven for a lot of money. As Freeman opens it, Kevin Spacy tells Pitt, who has a gun pointed at the cuffed Doe to keep him under control, Freeman discovers it is the wife of Pitts character head which has been cut of by Doe. Freeman understands what Doe is planning and runs back to the men to stop Pitt from shooting Doe.

As Freeman runs back to Pitt, Doe calmly explains he visited Pitt's wife and after killing her, he sent her head to his chosen location. Doe then explains that he envied the life of Pitt, so he has to be the victim of envy. He then asks a grieving Pitt to let the sin destroy and kill his life becoming the last of the victims, wrath. Pitt after much deliberation and grief against the advice of Freeman who states it's what he wants, if you kill him he wins, shoots Doe ending the sin cycle. Doe becomes the victim of envy, and as Pitt is led away in a police car, planned by Doe he will be the victim of wrath

Out of 10 I would give this film a 7 as I the ending and twist was predictable and the theme was just to graphic and creepy for me.

My level.

    Evaluation.
I feel the work I have done equates to about 15 marks (high level three) which makes a grade B over all, I know I need to complete work to a detailed standard to achieve the level A, I know I can get, if I stay on top of the work.
The three points i need to improve on are:
1. Completing the work at home and stay after school to do so
2. Upload all of my finished videos to my blog (Se7en and Dexter)
3. Make sure I annotate my work but to A level standard not GCSE!
